What is Heaven like? - Part 4

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord help us to be faithful and continue to work until you take us home to live with you, or the trumpet is sounded, signaling you have returned.

READ: Revelation 21:1-4, 1 Corinthians 15:25-26, 50-58, 2 Peter 3:13, Isaiah 25:8

Heaven contains no sin, sorrow or death.

REFLECT:

The Lord will wipe away our tears and the bride of Christ will be as white as snow. He has promised us a new heaven and earth. We will be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, the dead will be raised from their graves, and we will become immortal. Working for the Lord is not in vain, because we will have victory in the end. The enemies will be no more, they will be destroyed. Death will be no more, no crying and no pain. Victory in Christ has prevailed!

APPLY:

How in the world can we even imagine what it will be like, when all is well in the world and we are taken to such a beautiful place as heaven. Imagine how happy we will be! The dead in Christ will rise first, and there will be a beautiful new Jerusalem.

None of us, no matter what we’ve done deserve to be citizens of heaven, but because of Jesus, we are if we’ve trusted in him. We had a young man killed this week saving his cousin from a bullet. The joy of heaven comes to us because Jesus took a “bullet” for us by covering our sins on the cross. He is our redeemer!

When we get to heaven, our bodies will no longer be of flesh and blood but something mysterious, yet wonderful. I can’t even fathom what glory beholds us.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Heaven is real and I am so looking forward to no more cancer, covid, and any other diseases Lord, thank you for this wonderful plan for our life!
