What is Heaven Like? - Part 5
OPENING PRAYER:
Father God thank you for keeping your promises! We look forward to what is in store for us with your return.
When Christ comes again, a new heaven, a new earth and a new Jerusalem will be created.
REFLECT:
Just as in the days of Noah, when God told forewarned his people to refrain from wickedness and of a coming destructive flood, he has also told us that he will destroy the earth again. He is the Alpha and the Omega, and he will make all things new again. All the wicked will be put in a lake of burning sulfur. Jerusalem will have great walls,12 gates with 12 angels. Many minerals such as gold, turquoise and topaz will be used to make the foundations of the gates. Nothing impure will enter heaven. Those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will enter their eternal home of glory where a day with the Lord will not be like our days but will be like a thousand years. The new heaven and the new earth are coming!
APPLY:
What a wonderful, beautiful place heaven will be. It will be like no other. It will be perfect. Nothing here on Earth can even compare to the beauty we will experience. We are commanded to be on watch and wait for the Lord to come, because he will be like a thief in the night. We need to be evangelizing the lost, because God is patiently waiting for those that want to enter the golden gates. We need to tell everyone about this everlasting gift of Life.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Thank you, Father, for creating such a gorgeous place for us to live forever and ever. I am looking forward to seeing such beauty. You are unbelievable and can do the unimaginable.
