You Are A Child Of God
OPENING PRAYER:
Thank you Lord for accepting me as Your child. Help me to be mindful when I make choices and remind me that I am reflecting You. Amen.
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans 8:16-17 NIV
REFLECT:
God gifted me with three daughters and daily I am blessed because of them. They are gifts that keep on giving. Just like my children God’s gifts also keep on giving. It’s not a gift that can be bought or earned. God’s gifts are way beyond my expectation and they show us His desire to spend eternity with us beginning with today. By faith we can grab ahold of God’s gift or in doubt we can reject it. Maybe we feel we don’t deserve such a treasure or maybe we wouldn’t know what to do with if we had it. It’s a case where we must choose to receive it or not.
APPLY:
God’s desire is that we live as His children. He has given us multiple gifts that can affect our lives daily. Like children are a treasure to their parents we are God’s children and a treasure to Him. When we yield ourselves to God we are giving Him the gift of ourselves. As much as we love our own children we can be assured that God loves us (His children) even more. “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us” Ephesians 5:1-2a NIV. Imitate your Father in Heaven and follow Him.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father; help me to live my like as your child. I love you Father and desire to please You. Amen…
