God, the Father, Gives Us His Faithfulness

OPENING PRAYER:

Father, open our hearts to you today.

READ:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

REFLECT:

Scripture tells us repeatedly that God is unchanging and faithful. If you have walked with God for very long, you most likely have found this to be true in your own experience. God is the same and remains faithful when we are on the peaks and when we are in the valleys. He is a good, gracious Father.

While God’s faithfulness means that he will never leave us or forsake us, it also means that he is faithful to provide for us. He constantly amazes me in how he provides for us – giving us what we need, as well as resources and opportunities to do Kingdom work here on earth.

APPLY:

As we reflected yesterday, Jesus left us with a mission to love like he did. God the Father gives us what we need to carry out that mission.

Have you ever seen God at work in this? Have you seen him provide you with resources or opportunities when you needed them most? Have you seen him open doors for you to serve others when you weren’t even really looking for it? Have you been faithful to use those tools to further Jesus’ mission?

CLOSING PRAYER:

Father, thank you for your faithfulness. Open our eyes to see how you’ve been faithful over the years and how you’re working now.
