Following Jesus Means Following His Words and Ways First.

OPENING PRAYER:

Jesus, I pray I would be filled with your truth today and be reminded who you are and who I am in you. Amen.

READ: Colossians 3:16-17 (NIV

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:16-17 (NIV)

REFLECT:

REFLECT: For something to dwell somewhere it means to live and grow. The truth that’s etched all through God’s word is meant to dwell in us. When God’s word lives in us, our souls are nourished.

Going through life everyday connected to the source that gives us life is how Jesus desires for us to live. When we have truth dwelling in us, whether we realize this or not, it’s flowing through us bringing life to others.

APPLY:

Being intentional to dwell, to live in the presence of God and grow in your relationship with him requires consistency. Being consistent to have prayer times every day, reading God’s word and investing in meaningful relationships will all help Jesus dwell in you and flow through you.

The more we stay connected to Jesus, the greater our thankfulness is and the more we desire to serve others. Everything we do flows from somewhere. Jesus desires that be out of a love for him. Let’s grow desperate for Jesus and let’s be intentional about inviting him into our lives.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Heavenly father, help me learn to live by honoring you with my finances. Amen.
