The Joy of Producing Fruit
OPENING PRAYER:
Lord, as we explore the joy of producing fruit, fill our hearts with a desire to serve and glorify You. May our lives reflect Your love and grace. Amen.
"This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
In this passage, Jesus explains that bearing fruit is a sign of true discipleship and brings glory to the Father. The fruit represents the visible evidence of a life transformed by Christ, characterized by love, obedience, and service. This teaching is part of Jesus' final instructions to His disciples, emphasizing the importance of their mission after His departure.
John 15:8 (NIV)
REFLECT:
In his message this weekend, Pastor Elliott highlighted the joy and fulfillment that comes from producing fruit for God's kingdom. Rodney shared how his father instilled in him the value of hard work and production, which brought a sense of pride and accomplishment. Similarly, when we bear spiritual fruit, it brings glory to God and demonstrates our discipleship.
Producing fruit is not just about personal achievement; it is about impacting others and participating in God's redemptive work. Rodney’s story reminds us that we are part of a larger family business—the kingdom of God. As we serve others and share the love of Christ, we experience the joy of being co-laborers with Him.
Reflect on the fruit in your life. How are you demonstrating the character of Christ to those around you? Are there areas where you can grow in producing fruit? Let the joy of serving and glorifying God motivate you to live out your faith with passion and purpose.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will team up with a kid in my life to find a way we can serve together.
