Two or More...
OPENING PRAYER:

REFLECT:
I love the story of Aaron and Hur. It shows us how important we are to each other, especially during our battles. Genesis tells the story of Israel’s battle against the Amalekites. As long as Moses held up his hands, Israel overpowered their enemies. In verses 17:12-13 it says “When Moses' arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.” Literally, the battle’s victory hinged on the faithfulness of Moses’ brother Aaron and his friend Hur.
We tend to think we can do things on our own, but history shows us a different picture. Like Aaron and Hur, Paul and Silas spent a night singing together in a Philippian jail after being severely beaten. An earthquake freed them by shaking their chains loose resulting in panic, which ultimately led to the salvation of the jailer.
APPLY:
We as the church need each other more than we realize. Commit yourselves to being an Aaron and Hur to someone you know or maybe don’t know that well. We meet for weekend worship to strengthen our faith and grow in his Spirit. As we reach out to others, the church will increase and where two or more are gathered we can know God will be with us.

Heavenly Father, show us ways to serve you by serving others. Amen
