God Is Renewing Your Life

OPENING PRAYER:

Jesus, I pray my eyes would be opened to the new thing you want to do in me, Amen.

READ: Isaiah 43:19

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

REFLECT:

The prophet Isaiah spoke this word to a group of people in a time where it seemed God had forgotten them. Isaiah is reminding the people in exile that God is still their provider and protector.

He tells them this because sometimes we forget that this is God’s character. He is the only one who can make a stream through what seems like a wasteland. God showed up to the people in the scripture by taking care of them as their provider. But more importantly, just like the exiles in the story were experiencing a new thing from God, God wants the same for you.

APPLY:

What new thing does Jesus want to do in you or through you? Jesus is always leading us into more of himself. Jesus desires for us to live life connected and fully devoted to him.

The new thing Jesus may want to do in you is to breathe new life in an area that you’ve given up in. The new Jesus wants to do in you may be to bring restoration in a broken relationship. The new thing Jesus may want to do in you is to break the chains of addiction from your life. Maybe the new thing Jesus wants to do through you is for you to reach out to someone that you begin walking alongside.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Dear Jesus, I place my life in your hands. Lead me into the new thing you want to do in me and through me. I pray for the courage to take the step that you tell me to take Amen.
