Living with Eternal Perspective
OPENING PRAYER:
Gracious God, help us to live with an eternal perspective, focusing on what truly matters in light of Your kingdom. May our lives reflect Your love and truth. Amen.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV)
REFLECT:
In this passage, Paul encourages believers to maintain an eternal perspective, focusing on the unseen realities of God’s kingdom. This aligns with Pastor Carter’s message this past weekend of being ready for Christ’s return, urging us to prioritize what truly matters. The unexpected missile alert in Hawaii served as a powerful reminder of the shortness of life and the importance of living with purpose and intention.
Theologically, this passage challenges us to look beyond our present circumstances and focus on the eternal. It reminds us that our struggles and challenges are temporary, but the glory that awaits us is eternal. Todd’s message emphasized the importance of living with this perspective, urging us to invest our time, talents, and resources in ways that align with God’s kingdom values.
Personally, this reflection invites us to consider how we can live with an eternal perspective. Are we focusing on what truly matters, or are we distracted by the temporary concerns of this world? This is a call to live intentionally, prioritizing our relationship with God and others, and seeking to make a lasting impact for His kingdom.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will pray, give or take a step towards serving the least and the forgotten in my community.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the reminder of the importance of living with an eternal perspective. Help me to focus on what truly matters, and to live each day with purpose and intention. Guide me as I seek to honor You in all that I do. Amen.
