Embracing Risk for the Gospel
OPENING PRAYER:
Dear God, as we learn about embracing risk for the sake of the gospel, grant us the courage to step out in faith. May we trust in Your promises and be bold in sharing Your love. Amen.
But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:19-20
REFLECT:
Pastor Carter’s message highlights the boldness of Peter and John, who risked their safety to proclaim the gospel. Their response to the Sanhedrin reflects a deep conviction and an unshakeable commitment to their mission. This boldness is rooted in their personal experience with Jesus and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.
Embracing risk for the gospel means being willing to step out of our comfort zones to share the message of Christ. It involves trusting that God will equip us and provide for us as we take steps of faith. The message challenges us to consider what risks we might be called to take in our own lives. Are we willing to speak up for our faith, even when it's unpopular? Are we ready to be generous in new ways, trusting that God will use us for His purposes?
This call to boldness is not about recklessness but about a deep trust in God's faithfulness. As we embrace risk, we open ourselves to experiencing the fullness of life that Jesus offers. Todd encourages us to see risk as an opportunity for growth and transformation, both for ourselves and for those we seek to reach.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will take a bold risk as I make my commitment to All Things New.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the example of Peter and John, who boldly proclaimed Your name. Help us to embrace risk for the sake of the gospel, trusting in Your strength and guidance. May our lives be a testament to Your love and power. Amen.
