Living with Eternal Perspective
OPENING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, as we focus on living with an eternal perspective, help us to set our minds on things above and not on earthly concerns. Guide us to live in a way that honors You and impacts eternity. Amen.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Colossians 3:1-2
REFLECT:
Living with an eternal perspective means prioritizing what matters most in light of eternity. In Colossians 3:1-2, Paul urges believers to set their hearts and minds on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. This shift in focus helps us to see our lives through the lens of eternity, recognizing that our time on earth is temporary and that our true home is with God.
Julie, our guest speaker this past weekend, reminds us that generosity is about eternity, not just about meeting earthly needs. When we give, we are investing in God's kingdom, contributing to the work of spreading the gospel and making disciples. This eternal perspective helps us to hold our resources loosely, knowing that they are tools for God's purposes.
In our daily lives, we are challenged to live with this eternal mindset. It's easy to get caught up in the demands and distractions of the world, but we are called to keep our eyes on Jesus and His kingdom. This means making choices that reflect our faith, using our time, talents, and resources to further God's work and bring glory to Him.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will talk with someone about my commitment to All Things New.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the reminder to live with an eternal perspective. Help us to keep our eyes on You and to prioritize what matters most. May our lives reflect Your kingdom and draw others to You. Amen.
