The Gospel's Transformative Power
OPENING PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, as we dive deeper into the transformative power of the gospel, open our eyes to see how it changes us and compels us to live differently. May Your Spirit guide us in understanding and applying these truths. Amen.
Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
Acts 2:22-24
REFLECT:
Peter's message in Acts 2 is a powerful proclamation of the gospel. He reminds the crowd of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, emphasizing that it was God's deliberate plan to bring salvation to humanity. This message cut to the heart of those listening, leading to repentance and baptism for many. The gospel's power is not just in its ability to save but in its ability to transform lives.
In her message, Julie highlights that the gospel is not a distant event but a present reality. It's happening now, as people continue to encounter Jesus and experience His transformative power. This understanding should change how we live, prompting us to share the gospel with others and live in a way that reflects its truth.
In our own lives, we are called to let the gospel transform us. This means allowing it to shape our priorities, our relationships, and our actions. It's about living with the awareness that we are part of God's ongoing story of redemption, and we have a role to play in sharing that story with others. Consider how the gospel has transformed your own life.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will talk with someone about my commitment to All Things New.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Jesus, thank You for the transformative power of the gospel. Help us to live in a way that reflects Your love and grace. Give us the courage to share our story with others, that they may come to know You. Amen.
