The Power of Generosity
OPENING PRAYER:
Gracious God, as we explore the call to generosity, open our hearts to give as You have given to us. May we reflect Your love and grace in our actions. Amen.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:8
REFLECT:
In his message, Pastor Carter emphasizes the transformative power of generosity as a key aspect of discipleship. In Acts 1:8, Jesus commissions His disciples to be His witnesses, empowered by the Holy Spirit. This empowerment is not just for personal edification but for the mission of spreading the Gospel. The early church exemplified this through their radical generosity, sharing their resources to meet the needs of others and advance the mission of Jesus.
Generosity is a reflection of God's character. As we give, we participate in His work of making all things new. The message challenges us to grow in the area of generosity, not just financially, but in all aspects of our lives. This growth requires a shift in perspective, seeing our resources as tools for God's kingdom rather than personal security.
For us, this means evaluating how we use our time, talents, and treasures. Are we holding onto them tightly, or are we willing to release them for God's purposes? The call is to trust that as we give, God will provide for our needs and use our offerings to bring about His kingdom on earth.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will pray about my commitment to All Things New.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Father, thank You for the privilege of participating in Your work through generosity. Help us to give freely and joyfully, trusting in Your provision and purpose. May our lives be a testament to Your love and grace. Amen.
