Embracing the New
OPENING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, as we embark on this journey of transformation, open our hearts to the new things You are doing in our lives. May Your Holy Spirit guide us to understand and embrace Your vision. Amen.
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
REFLECT:
In his message, Pastor Carter reminded that Jesus is in the business of making all things new. This promise from Revelation is a powerful declaration of hope and transformation. The context of this passage is the vision given to John, where God reveals the ultimate renewal of creation. It is a promise that extends beyond the physical world to our personal lives and communities. Todd challenges us to consider whether we truly desire to return to "normal" after the past several years or if we are ready to embrace the newness that Jesus offers.
Theologically, this passage speaks to the hope that Christians hold—the belief that God will ultimately restore and renew all things. This renewal is not just a future event but begins in our lives today as we allow Jesus to transform us. Pastor Carter highlights the need for us to participate in this transformation by stepping out of our comfort zones and joining Jesus in His mission.
