Discussion Guide will be posted on Sunday at 3pm.
OPENING QUESTIONS:
1. Are you loyal to any brands or companies? If so, why?
2. Think about a group project you were a part of, how did it go? What kind of challenges or dynamics did you have to work through to get the project done?
IN THE WORD:
1 The tribes of Reuben and Gad want to stay on the other side of the Jordan River instead of battling to take the land God promised to them. They tell Moses it's for their livestock, but what other things might have factored into their choice? Numbers 32:1-5
2. Moses lets us know this isn’t the first time all the tribes weren’t on board with God’s plan. Do you think it is right for Reuben and Gad to stay on the other side of the Jordan? How might their choice affect the other ten tribes of Israel? Numbers 32:6-12
3. What prevented most of the tribes from wanting to take the promised land the first time around? What does this show us about how they trust or think of God? Numbers 13:26-30
4. What does Caleb’s response show us about his belief and trust in God? What does it take to experience the good God has for them? Numbers 13:26-30
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. How has serving at Pathway, or elsewhere, been important in your faith journey? What has it meant to you?
2. When have you seen entitlement hurt the church or something God was doing in someone’s life? How can we battle entitlement in ourselves or others?
3. What would it look like for us to be like Caleb and encourage people to act on God’s promises?
4. How can we push each other to be people who act on God’s goodness this week?
CONTINUED LEARNING:
Read 2 Corinthians 1:18-22. Is there a promise of God’s that you struggle to believe? How can you act on that promise this week?
