BIG IDEA:
Jesus is the way to life and heaven.
TEACHING POINTS:

• Jesus as the only way may appear to be exclusive to some, but He’s not.
• Jesus as the only way may appear to be arrogant to some, but He’s not.
• To love one another we must do so intentionally.

SCRIPTURE: John 14:1-6 NIV; John 8:24 NIV; Acts 4:12 NIV; Ephesians 2:8 NIV
OPENING QUESTIONS:
  1. How did you bring peace, joy, and/or forgiveness to someone during the Christmas season?
  2. What is one thing that you are thankful for as the new year begins?
  3. What is something that was stressful or difficult this week and how can we help?

IN THE WORD:
  1. Read John 14:1-6 in two different translations and then have someone retell the story.
  2. What does this story tell us about God? What does this story tell us about people?
  3. How does Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV help deal with the arrogance question?

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
  1. How can you deal with these emotional barriers (arrogance, exclusivity) that some people may have in coming to believe that Jesus is the only way?
  2. Who is someone that God may be directing you to walk alongside this week? How will you help them if they are struggling with accepting Jesus as the only way?
