Message Details

  • Sermon Series Name: OneLife
  • Message Title: Praying for an Impact
  • Short Summary: This message challenges us to recognize our role as the light of the world, emphasizing the power of prayer in connecting us to God and impacting those around us. By focusing on one life at a time, we can roll back the darkness and bring hope to those in need.

Icebreaker Question

  • Think of a time when someone unexpectedly brightened your day. What did they do, and how did it make you feel? How can small acts of kindness serve as a light in our daily lives?

Review of the Previous Week’s "I Will" Statement

  • Reflect on last week's commitment: I will passionately serve others to show Christ’s love to the world. In what ways did you sense God’s presence or guidance as you served others? Did you notice any changes in your own heart or perspective?

    • Context: Community prayer strengthens our collective light and impact.
    • Life Application: What is one way our group can commit to praying for each other and our community in the coming weeks? How can we hold each other accountable in this commitment?

This Week’s "I Will" Statement

  • I will pray for God to change my heart for the one he has placed in my life.

Prayer Prompts

  1. Prayer Requests: Begin by asking if anyone has specific prayer requests they would like to share.
  2. Pray for Boldness: Ask God to give each participant the courage to be a light in their community and to share their faith with others.
  3. Pray for the One: Encourage the group to pray for the one person they identified who needs God's light, asking for opportunities to show love and care.

Be part of a unified movement of prayer by texting PRAYER to (316) 444-4180. You'll receive a weekly reminder every Wednesday at 1:54pm to pray for your "one". The time is inspired by Luke 15:4, where the shepherd goes after the one lost sheep. This is a simple way to join with others across our church community, wherever you are, as we commit to praying together. Even when we're apart, we can still be part of something bigger than ourselves.
