BIG IDEA:
We make successful handoffs of faith in the context of community.
TEACHING POINTS:
  • We’re better together, but we’re especially better together when it comes to parenting!
  • Do you prioritize your kid’s spiritual team over all their other teams?
  • The enemy wants you to be in neutral when it come to your kid’s spiritual formation.
  • You’re not Plan B for your kids. You’re Plan A.
  • Faith lasts beyond you and me.
  • Be committed to this team, Team Pathway.
  • Parents need their own team.
  • Be intentional about building your kid’s team.
SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 1:5 NLT
OPENING QUESTIONS:
  1. What are you thankful for from this past week?
  2. What is a stress or challenge from this past week?
  3. Does anyone know of a need in our group or community that we can meet?
  4. What was your I will from last week and were you able to accomplish it?

IN THE WORD:
  1. Read the verses in a couple of different versions.
  2. Retell the passage in your own words.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
  1. What does the scripture tell me about God, Jesus, or His plan?
  2. What does the scripture tell me about people, or more specifically, me?
  3. If this is really God’s Word, what change will I make in my life?
  4. Who will I share this scripture with this week?
MAKING IT PERSONAL:

Pray and encourage everyone to obey and do the “I will” statement for this week.

COMMITMENT:

I will be on __________ (child's name) team.
