The Power of Decisions
OPENING PRAYER:
Gracious God, today we seek Your wisdom in our daily decisions. Help us to recognize the impact of each choice and guide us to align them with Your will. Amen.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
This passage encourages trust in the Lord and reliance on His understanding rather than our own, promising that He will make our paths straight.
REFLECT:
The message highlights that we make thousands of decisions each year, each contributing to the life we build. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding. This trust is crucial in decision-making, as it aligns our choices with God's wisdom rather than our limited perspective.
Reflect on the decisions you've made recently. How often do you seek God's guidance in them? Trusting in the Lord means surrendering our understanding and allowing His wisdom to direct our paths. This requires humility and a willingness to listen to His voice, often through prayer, scripture, and godly counsel.
Consider the habitual decisions you make daily. Are they aligned with God's will? The sermon challenges us to assess our habits and ensure they reflect a life built on Christ. This reflection invites us to be intentional in our choices, seeking God's direction in all we do.
APPLY:
Choose one habitual decision you make daily and commit to seeking God's guidance in it. This could be how you start your day, interact with others, or manage your time. Pray for wisdom and discernment in this area.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will listen to the advice of someone who will help me obey the words of Jesus.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Father, thank You for Your promise to guide us when we trust in You. Help me to rely on Your wisdom in my decisions, aligning my life with Your will. May my choices reflect a heart committed to following You. Amen.
