All I Have Comes From God
OPENING PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank you for everything. Literally everything. Your blessings are never ending. Help me to always be grateful and mindful of all you have given me.
READ:
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:10-11
“For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” 1 Corinthians 4:7
John 3:27
“To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.” John 3:27
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.“ 1 Timothy 6:6-7
REFLECT:
Everyone has pain and loss in their story. Sometimes it’s easy to see how struggle pays off, other times, not so much. Through it all, one thing always remains true: everything each of us has comes from God. Even in the toughest times, if we look hard enough, we can find blessing that only comes from him.
As I reflect on my life, I am able to see that I have so very much. And all I have is from God. God has blessed me.
He has blessed me with a wonderful wife and daughter.
He has blessed us with careers in teaching and business.
He has blessed us with a great home and a wonderful doggo.
He has blessed us with an abundance of food.
He has blessed us with activities for fun and relaxation.
All I and my family have is from God. He is great. We love him so much.
APPLY:
Everything comes from God. It’s easy to lose sight of that, especially during times of struggle. Images are powerful. Take some time to illustrate the gifts of your life that are from God. Draw, paint or use emojis, and then hang it on the fridge or in your dining room! Take a break. Have some fun. And reflect on all that God has given you.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Thank you Jesus for being the provider of everything I could ever need or want. I owe everything to you.
