Joy in Surrender
OPENING PRAYER:
Father, teach us the joy of surrender today. May we find true joy in giving our lives fully to You. Guide us as we reflect on Your Word and help us to trust in Your perfect plan for our lives. Amen
"If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete."
Jesus speaks of the joy that comes from abiding in His love and obeying His commands, leading to complete joy.
REFLECT:
Surrender is the key to complete joy. Pastor Carter’s message emphasized that joy is downloaded from God through a relationship with Jesus. In John 15:10-11, Jesus invites us to remain in His love by keeping His commands, promising that His joy will be in us and our joy will be complete.
Surrendering to God means trusting Him with every aspect of our lives. It means letting go of our own desires and embracing His will. As Todd shared, when we surrender to Jesus, we experience a joy that transcends circumstances and fills our souls.
Reflect on areas of your life where you need to surrender to God. Are there things you're holding onto that hinder your joy? Pray for the strength to let go and trust Him fully, and embrace the joy of surrender, knowing that God's plans for you are good and that His joy is complete.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will confess and turn away from anything but Jesus to give me joy.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the joy of surrender. Help us to trust You with every part of our lives and to find complete joy in Your love. May we abide in You and experience the fullness of joy. Amen.
