The State Of Today
OPENING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, open our eyes to see the great things you have done and are doing. -Amen
“The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” I John 3:8
REFLECT:
Satan’s tactics have not changed over the years but he has become very good at what he does. (He’s had a lot of time to practice.) Some of his basic ‘go-to’ approaches are to overwhelm, confuse and lie. His desire is to rob us of our hope, peace, and love. It is obvious we have not learned to recognize his methods and we tend to fall for them over and over again. When we are immobilized by these tactics, he has his victory.
APPLY:
Be of good cheer! Jesus has destroyed the devil’s work and he has overcome every diversion. There is no power that can overshadow the good, complete work of Christ. As we go through our day and feel overwhelmed by the confusing lies that continually flash before us, remember I John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” No matter what the circumstance, witnessing to others or just trying to get through another day, no evil is too powerful for Jesus!
CLOSING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank you for overcoming the works of the evil one. We stand in your victory and trust in you. Amen
