The Gift of Obedience
OPENING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, teach us the joy of obedience and the blessings that come from following Your will. May we delight in serving You. Amen.
"Jesus replied, 'Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.'"
John 14:23 (NIV)
REFLECT:
Obedience is a recurring theme in the sermon, exemplified by Mary's willingness to embrace God's plan despite her fears. Jesus teaches that obedience is a natural expression of our love for Him. The pastor shared how Anthony Allen's decision to be baptized was a step of obedience that brought him closer to God. This act of faith is a reminder that obedience is not just about following rules but about deepening our relationship with God. When we choose to obey, we invite God's presence into our lives in a profound way. The pastor emphasized that obedience often requires courage and trust, but it leads to greater peace and joy. As we reflect on the Christmas story, let us be inspired by Mary's example and commit to living lives of devoted obedience.

CLOSING PRAYER:
