Figuring It Out with Faith

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord, grant us the wisdom and courage to figure out how to prioritize Your kingdom in our lives. May we seek You above all else and trust in Your guidance.

READ: Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

REFLECT:

Pastor Todd Carter shared a personal story about buying a new car and how he and his wife figured out their finances to make it happen. This story serves as a metaphor for how we can prioritize God's kingdom in our lives. Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6:33 calls us to seek His kingdom first, trusting that all our needs will be met.

Todd’s message challenged us to "figure it out" when it comes to our generosity and commitment to God's kingdom. Just as we make sacrifices and adjustments for things we desire, we are called to do the same for our relationship with God. This requires intentionality and faith, trusting that God will provide as we prioritize Him.

Reflect on what it means to seek God's kingdom first. Are there areas in your life where you need to make adjustments to prioritize your relationship with Him? In his message, Todd encourages us to trust God with our resources, knowing that He will meet our needs as we step out in faith.

As you meditate on this passage, ask God to reveal areas where you can seek His kingdom more intentionally. Let go of the need to control your resources and trust that God will provide for your needs as you prioritize Him.

APPLY:

Identify one area in your life where you can make adjustments to prioritize God's kingdom. This could be through your time, resources, or relationships.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will make a commitment, stay strong in my commitment, or increase my commitment to All Things New.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Gracious God, help us to seek Your kingdom first in all areas of our lives. Grant us the wisdom and courage to make the necessary adjustments, trusting in Your provision and guidance. Amen.
