Communion From Home

Every week at our in-person services at Pathway Church we celebrate communion—that is we eat bread and drink juice to remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. We do this each week because we want to keep our focus every week on Him, God's Son, coming down to Earth, dying for our sins, and then rising again.

For those experiencing Church Online, we encourage you to celebrate with us at home. Here are some simple instructions to assist and equip you.

Gather:

A small piece of bread or a large cracker. Small glasses or cups with an ounce of juice or water. All those in your household to sit down on the floor or around a table.

Read:

"The Lord Jesus on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.'" –1 Corinthians 11:23-24 NIV

Pray:

Thank you Lord Jesus for going to the cross and giving your life as a sacrifice for our sin.

EAT THE BREAD OR CRACKER

Read:

"In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.'" –1 Corinthians 11:25 NIV

Pray:

Lord Jesus, we remember you shed your blood so we could have a relationship with you, the Holy Spirit inside us, and the gift of eternal life. We do this to remember your love and sacrifice for us. Amen.

DRINK THE JUICE OR WATER

Read:

"For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He returns." –1 Corinthians 11:26 NIV
