Take the Next Step

Recently, one of our staff was talking with someone who had been at Pathway for more than ten years, and had just joined a Home Team. When the staff member asked him what his experience had been, he said, “For the first time when we come to church, we have friends and we know people.”

If you talk to any of our folks who are long-term Pathway people, they will tell you that their Home Team, their “small group” over the years, has helped them to go deeper in their relationship with God and with others.

In a large church, at any of our campuses, it’s easy to just breeze in and out of a service. If you don’t move beyond attending a service, or take a next step to volunteer or join a Home Team, you don’t feel fully connected. Following Jesus is a team activity. It’s the “in community” part of who we are, and it is what you’re missing in your life.

If you’re currently in a Home Team, great! Be praying for those you know who aren’t, and inviting others to join your group. If you’re not currently in a Home Team, I want you to prayerfully consider taking this next step.

I know it isn’t easy; you are busy, your life is crazy, you work a lot of hours, you have kids, they have activities, and on and on and on. But, if you make being part of a Home Team a top priority, you won’t be sorry that you made time for something that can take your followership of Jesus to the next level.
